πŸ”Ž Search and Explore

Search finds a story by what it is called, and Explore lets you pick a topic and be guided through it one story at a time. This page will guide you through both, so you can get to the story you want, or find something new to read.

Searching for a story

  • Open search: press the search icon in the site header. A box opens over the page.
  • Type your search: enter words from a story title or its topic into "Search stories…". Results appear as you type.
  • Choose a result: press a result to open that story.
  • Close search: press the close button, or press Esc, to return to the page you were on.

If nothing matches, the box says "No results found." Swift Axis does not store your search terms, so this ensures what you look for stays private to you.

note

If you have chosen to hide AI-generated stories, they are left out of the results. When that happens and nothing else matches, the message says that some results were hidden by your AI-content setting. See Themes and AI stories.

Using Explore

The "Explore" page is headed "Where would you like to go?" and has these areas:

  • Pick up where you left off: a card near the top that returns you to the last story you were reading. Press its dismiss button to hide it.
  • Topics: a card for each topic, showing how far through it you are, such as "3 of 8 read Β· Continue".
  • Short on time?: stories you can finish in three minutes or less, each marked with its reading time and the topic it belongs to.
  • See the bigger picture: the "Open the map" button, which shows a map of every topic's paths and endings, and "Reset my progress".

Simply pick a topic card to begin, or choose a short story when you only have a few minutes.

Browsing by tag and writer

Stories can also be grouped by tags, which cross topic boundaries, and by the writer's byline. Pressing a tag or a writer's name on a story opens a page that lists their stories. This allows you to follow a subject or a writer across the whole site.
