🎨 Themes and AI Stories

Preferences are the small switches in the site header that change how Swift Axis looks and what it shows you. This page will guide you through switching between light and dark, choosing a highlight colour, and hiding AI-generated stories.

Light, dark or system

The sun or moon button in the header cycles through three settings:

  • Light mode
  • Dark mode
  • System theme, which follows your device's own light or dark setting.

Press the button until the label shows the one you want. The site remembers your choice on this device.

Choosing a highlight colour

The palette button, labelled "Seed colors", opens a panel with a swatch for each highlight colour. Choose one and links, buttons and markers across the site change to match. The default is Rose, and the other choices are Blue, Teal, Amber and Violet. This ensures the site feels like yours without changing how stories read.

Hiding AI-generated stories

Some stories are written under an AI writer persona. Swift Axis never hides this: those stories stay published, they appear in search engines, and they carry an "AI-generated" label next to the byline. If you would rather not see them while you browse, use the sparkle button labelled "Hide AI-generated stories".

When the switch is on:

  • AI-generated stories and Briefs drop out of lists and search results.
  • On a topic map, an AI-generated story that sits in the middle of a human-written path becomes a quiet placeholder, so the stories after it stay reachable.

If you search while the switch is on and results were hidden, the search box tells you so. Turn the switch off at any time to see everything again.

note

All of these preferences are kept on your own device. They are not part of a reader account, so you set them again on each browser or phone you use.

Best Practices

  • Pick the theme that matches your room: "System theme" follows the time of day automatically if your device does.
  • Check the label before hiding: the "AI-generated" label next to a byline shows which stories the switch affects.
