📱 Getting the App
The Swift Axis app is an Android reader for the same guided stories you find on the website, designed for reading one story at a time on your phone. This page will guide you through getting the app, what it does, and what it leaves to the website.
Getting the app
The app is for Android phones and tablets. Look for "Swift Axis" in Google Play and install it as you would any other app. You do not need an account, and nothing needs to be set up before you start reading.
What the app does
- Home: a start page with "Start with one good story.", a "Start reading →" or "Continue reading →" button, and a "Latest stories" list.
- Topics: every topic, with its map and your progress.
- Search: find a story by title or topic.
- Authors: the writers behind the stories, and a list of what each has written.
- Maps and the gem belt: see every path through a topic, and collect a gem for each ending you reach.
- Settings: light, dark or system theme, an accent colour, and a switch to hide AI-generated stories.
- About: links to the privacy policy, contact page and website.
The tabs along the bottom of the screen are "Home", "Topics", "Search" and "Authors". The gear icon on Home opens "Settings", and the information icon opens "About".
What the app does not do
- No sign-in. The app has no reader account. Your reading progress stays on the phone, and it is not synced with the website. See Signing in and syncing for the website's optional account.
- No Briefs. Briefs and The Wire are on the website only.
- No writing. Stories are written in the Studio, which is a website tool for the site owner. See the Studio guide.
tip
Use the app for reading and the website when you want to sign in, sync your place across devices, or read Briefs.
